The biggest decision of my life is to marry. Am I feeling pushed? Let me analyze it.
K’s family wants to marry in April, May of 2025. Their reasons:
- K is 28 and I am 32
- She will become 29
- They want her to marry before her brother marries in November 2025.
We want to get married in November 2025. Our reasons:
- Dwarka’s house is not ready and the next 3 months will go in getting that readied so that we can move there for initial rituals after marriage.
- We also want to get the VK house renovated so that some people who come here can see a good house.
- So that we can jot down more funds.
- So that I can earn more money.
What is fair and what is not?
I will first evaluate mine.
Dwarka house has not been made in 2 years. Why? Multiple reasons. Should it get completed by April? Yes, it should. Otherwise, it is a bad project overall.
How much time will the VK project take? 1-month max.
How much time will shopping take? 2 months after roka.
What about K?
The age thing is really stupid if the person is fixed. The reason why they are unsure is because they are unsure about the person, that is me.
Secondly, the only correct reason for them is that they are comparing me with arranged marriage relations. That if arrange marriage had to happen it would’ve happened already. Hence they want it done.
There one reason is of religion and faith.
Our reason is based on house construction. No faith.
Our reason is about readiness where as more prep has to be done by them.
Do we really have the face to ask for an extension? Well yes, it could be about readiness – my readiness (mental, physical, financial). Also house readiness.
I will be stressing my 70 year old father for shopping. But why? Why cant I shop?
Also, if I lose this relationship – its okay but the next I get will not be anytime soon. I will not be marrying before Winter of 2026 when I will be 34. Will I be better placed? Yes and won’t it be good?
But is the marriage only about me being good? Or also about my partner? K seems to be great partner.
She thinks with clarity.
