3 Things Formula to Overcome Unproductivity

Today was tough. I wrestled with productivity and found myself unable to focus or effectively complete tasks. My morale took a dip as I felt like I was underachieving and not making the progress I wanted. I know I need to make significant changes to how I approach my work to pull myself out of this rut.

Reflecting on the situation, I realized that my current method of scheduling—trying to fit in multiple activities into stringent half-hour slots—isn’t working. It’s adding to my stress and diminishing my productivity.

I decided to try a different approach, one that emphasizes picking three major tasks each day. This way, I can allot a good chunk of time, ideally three hours, to each task without getting distracted or feeling overwhelmed.

For tomorrow, I’ve planned my day better:

  1. Morning Block (8 AM to 11 AM): Work on preparing decks for Marketing 101 videos, prepare YouTube calendar and script for next 6 videos
  2. Midday Block (12 PM to 3 PM): Initiate scripting for finance 101 content for the next course.
  3. Afternoon Block (3 PM to 6 PM): Focus on the CL tasks – winding up Parents’ MyZone, preparing content for the MP website, Working on Sujata’s Deck

I’ve scheduled some personal time from 6 PM to 9 PM where I can work on things like studying for CAT, updating my schedule, reading books, and connecting with family and friends.

Tomorrow, however, I will be most likely replacing my 3PM to 6PM with 6PM to 9PM as I will most likely be meeting my GF at 3PM and work with her.

This structured yet flexible approach appeals to me more as it provides clear objectives and ample time to unwind and recharge.

Today taught me that a rigid schedule isn’t always synonymous with productivity. Sometimes, focusing on a few key activities and giving them adequate time can yield better results. This insight will likely help me adjust and improve my workflow tremendously.

2 out 3 is a win!

For tomorrow, my aim is to concentrate on these three projects. If I manage to complete at least two of them, I’ll consider it a win. Ultimately, what matters is progress and not perfection. I hope to carry forward this balanced approach in the days to come, allowing me to regain my confidence and productive flow.

Goals for Tomorrow:

  • Successfully complete at least two out of the three planned tasks.
  • Stick to the three-hour blocks schedule for each task.
  • Utilize the 6 PM to 9 PM time efficiently for personal development activities.

Here’s to hoping tomorrow brings clarity, productivity, and a stronger sense of achievement.
